One of the most popular donut tours in the U.S., the Underground Donut Tour, is expanding to Boston, Massachusetts. The tour, which has been held in Chicago, Philadelphia, New York City, Portland and Seattle for six years, is now adding a sixth city.
Visitors will walk through four of Boston’s top donut shops as their guide explains the history of each shop, local attractions and history along the way, including the Financial District, Boston Harbor, Downtown Boston, Boston Public Market and the historic North End.
Each stop will offer gourmet donut tastings, including two at Kane’s Donuts and Union Square Donuts, and two more secret locations that will be revealed during the tour.
“Boston’s donuts are the real deal! From the first Dunkin’ Donuts outside of Boston to the amazing variety of delicious treats today, Boston was the obvious choice for our trip. I wish we had planned this sooner,” said Jeff Walker, founder of the Underground Donut Tour.
“Boston has such a fascinating history, both about our country and about our donuts. You’ll learn about both on this tour. We hope you’ll join us!” said Norman Bendross, tour manager for the Boston Underground Donut Tour.
Tours begin on Friday, June 25 and are available year-round. They are open every Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, with more dates and times to be announced soon. Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for children 10 and under, on a first-come, first-served basis.
