The store temporarily closed for renovations late last year and reopened to the Sugar Land community on Feb. 19, according to store manager Jack Nguyen. The new interior includes more seating, a wider customer checkout lane and a modern pastry display.
The cafe offers coffee, handcrafted espresso drinks, teas, blended beverages, gourmet cakes and desserts. The store also has a bakery that bakes more than 50 pastries per hour, according to the website. The cafe’s name comes from the fact that the staff makes espresso at 85 degrees Celsius, according to the website.
Founded in 2003 and headquartered in Taiwan, 85°C Bakery Cafe is an international chain with more than 1,000 locations worldwide. The first U.S. location opened in California in 2008, according to its website.
The company also has three locations in the Houston area, located in Katy, Bel Air and Spring Branch.
