Duck Donuts has announced that it will continue its international expansion plans and recently signed a multi-unit franchise agreement granting it the rights to develop and operate the company’s first Canadian stores.
2651754 Ontario Inc. plans to open three stores in Ontario over the next four years. The first store is currently under construction and is expected to open in Burlington, Ontario.
“International expansion is an important part of our growth strategy and we are excited to finally have the opportunity to introduce and share our warm, delicious, made-to-order donuts to our neighbors to the north,” said Betsy Hamm, CEO of Duck Donuts.
We believe this first multi-unit franchise agreement will help us continue to generate interest across Canada and that more opportunities will open up for our brand once community residents get their first taste of Duck Donuts’ warm donuts. ”
The first Canadian store will be locally owned and operated by husband and wife duo Diana Reid and Stuart Reid.
“Canadians eat more donuts per capita than any other country,” said Diana Reid. “For generations, donuts have been a staple at Canadian family celebrations, work meetings, social gatherings and coffee breaks.
We are so excited to offer Canadian families a warm, delicious, customizable donut to experience and enjoy.”
