New York City’s The Doughnut Project is teaming up with chewy candy HI-CHEW to create summer fruit-themed creations during National Candy Month in June.
The new Strawberry Squeeze Doughnut is a one-of-a-kind doughnut that celebrates HI-CHEW’s newest flavor, Strawberry Lemonade. The Strawberry Squeeze Doughnut is filled with lemon and strawberry jam, a perfect blend of two fruity flavors.
The exterior of the doughnut is covered in HI-CHEW Strawberry Lemonade frosting and topped with strawberry candies and lemon slices.
“In celebration of National Candy Month, we wanted to bring a new flavor to candy lovers in a fun way,” said Tatsuya Takamiya, Chief Marketing Officer of Morinaga America.
This is our second collaboration with The Doughnut Project, and they continue to develop delicious recipes that perfectly mimic our flavors.”
The Strawberry Squeeze Doughnut will be available for a limited time at The Doughnut Project’s West Village location (June 17-19). The first 10 customers to purchase a Strawberry Squeeze Donut each day will receive a free bag of HI-CHEW Fruity Mix Stand-Up Packs.
The donuts, which launched earlier this year, come in individually wrapped Tropical Smoothie, Pina Colada, and the new Strawberry Lemonade flavors.
“We’re always looking to create unique, out-of-the-box donut flavors for our customers,” said Leslie Polizzotto, co-founder of The Doughnut Project.
“We love working with brands like HI-CHEW who are open to experimenting and reinventing their products in fun ways. Our team loved the Strawberry Lemonade flavor, which was both nostalgic and in line with the brand, so we decided to give it new life through a delicious donut.”
