Something sweet is coming to Sharpsburg this fall. Parlor Doughnuts plans to open a location at 3500 GA-34 in the Thomas Grace Square Shopping Center, marking the doughnut chain’s first location in Coweta County and second in Georgia. The first location is in Columbus.
The locations offer more than 20 flavors of the signature layer doughnut, including vegan, keto and gluten-free options to suit a variety of diets and preferences. The proprietary product is deep-fried with layers of buttery dough for a crunchy outside and soft inside. Flavors include lemon bars, French toast, maple pecan, churro and more, with seasonal additions.
The menu also includes specialty coffee drinks and other breakfast items, such as avocado toast, acai bowls, breakfast tacos and sandwiches. Plus, there are treats for your furry friends, like dog doughnuts.
Columbus store owner Jay Wilson told What Now Atlanta that they plan to open the new Sharpsburg location in mid-August or mid-September. They plan to open at least three more locations in the Atlanta metro area, possibly in northern Atlanta areas such as Roswell, Alpharetta, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody or Woodstock.
“Hopefully we’ll be able to make it happen in the future, but right now our focus is on getting Sharpsburg open,” he said.
Parlor Doughnuts originated in Evansville, Indiana. Founder Darrick Hayden opened a coffee shop called Proper Coffee with his son Noah in 2015, which eventually gave rise to the concept of Parlor Doughnuts.
In 2019, they partnered with Josh Tudela to launch Parlor Doughnuts. Currently, Parlor Doughnuts has more than 70 stores in 17 states.
“We’re looking forward to opening in Sharpsburg and sharing our donuts and coffee with the people of Coweta County,” Wilson said. “We’re working hard to open as soon as possible and make it a great success.”
As soon as they open, he recommends the peanut butter cups.
“You can’t go wrong with chocolate and peanut butter,” he said.
