A traditional Singaporean breakfast with donuts? That’s something we never thought we’d enjoy, but now we can’t wait to have it anyway. From 1 to 31 August, head to Mister Donut outlets islandwide to try out this exclusive Singapore flavour in collaboration with Ya Kun Kaya Toast!
With National Day just around the corner on 9 August, the two brands have teamed up to bring out tasty treats inspired by traditional breakfasts. Ya Kun’s kopi (coffee) and kaya toast are among its most popular menu items, so you can bet those flavours are the highlight of this delicious collaboration.
Take the Japanese donut chain’s famous ‘pon de ring’ for example, which has been given a local twist with the ‘Ya Kun Pon De Ring’. Here, you can get Mister Donut’s signature chewy mochi dough, infused with Ya Kun’s special coffee, and finished off with a layer of coffee-flavoured chocolate for a hint of sweetness.
Meanwhile, the Ya Kun Kaya Cream Donut lives up to its name. Each soft bun is crammed with fluffy whipped cream, which is given a rich pandan flavor by Ya Kun’s signature kaya jam. It’s so luxurious that you probably won’t miss the cold slab of butter that’s often found on traditional kaya toast.
Ya Kun Pon De Ring and Ya Kun Kaya Cream donuts are only available in August. Each donut costs $3, but if you’re feeling fancy, you can get a pack of six ($14) or 10 ($23). It’s also worth getting in early, as Mister Donut is running a promotion from August 1 to 7. The first 100 customers per day at each store will receive a scratch-off draw card for a chance to win $1 off any waffle, a free refill of hot coffee or tea, or $1 off selected value meals.
