Phoenix, Arizona – Randy’s Donuts, an iconic California establishment, has made its debut in Phoenix, marking its first-ever location in Arizona.
Managed by Brian Padilla, the Arizona branch of Randy’s Donuts unveiled its doors at a 1,400-square-foot establishment situated off 7th Street and Bethany Home Road. Boasting both a drive-thru and walk-in area, the shop offers patrons a selection of up to 60 different types of delectable donuts, ranging from butter crumb and chocolate twist to Texas-sized creations.
Excited customers flocked to the new location, drawn by the promise of exceptional treats. One patron expressed their enthusiasm, stating, “It’s kind of hard to find good donuts around here, and because I tried it before, I know it’s good donuts. So, I came to get some for my son too.”
Prepared for the grand opening, nearly 8,000 donuts were made available on the first day. The influx of eager customers resulted in long lines stretching down the block, with some enthusiasts waiting for up to an hour to satisfy their cravings. Brian Padilla remarked on the overwhelming response, noting, “It’s been going since 4:30 this morning we’ve had people in line.”
With a legacy dating back to 1952, Randy’s Donuts has garnered recognition beyond its culinary offerings. The Los Angeles-based establishment has been prominently featured in various movies and television shows, including “Iron Man 2,” “Mars Attacks,” “The Simpsons,” and “Arrested Development.”
Looking ahead, Padilla revealed plans for further expansion, with upcoming locations slated for Gilbert and Chandler.
The official grand opening, complete with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, is scheduled for the end of May, coinciding with the installation of an 11-foot doughnut sculpture in front of the store.
Operating hours for the Phoenix location are from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays through Thursdays, and from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
