The Salvation Army Kroc Community Center is pleased to host the Uncle Mike’s Donut 5K, with proceeds from the event going to the Kroc Center Scholarship Fund.
Extending the celebration of National Donut Day this June, The Salvation Army Kroc Center is pleased to partner with the donut (and Kringle) experts at Uncle Mike’s Bakery to host the 4th Annual Donut 5K on Saturday, June 7th, beginning at 8:00 a.m.
The first event of the day will be the Sprinkle Sprint Run/Walk for children ages 2-12 at 8:30 a.m. The race will officially begin at 9:00 a.m. and finish at the beautiful Green Island Park in the Village of Allouez.
Runners will follow the new race route through the streets of Allouez.
From 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., the public can enjoy live entertainment, donuts, and refreshments in the park.
After the race, runners will pick up a free Uncle Mike’s Donut!
Proceeds from this event will go directly to the Kroc Center Scholarship Fund.
This program provides reduced memberships and activities for low-income families/individuals in our community.
Joining the Kroc Center means providing enriching life classes for disadvantaged children, healthy programs for adults on fixed incomes, and a safe place for families to spend time together.
“We are always honored to partner with The Salvation Army Kroc Community Center and support their great cause to help the community,” said Nathan Vander Waller, owner of Uncle Mike’s Bakery. “We are looking forward to a fun event filled with donuts, positive energy, and lots of fun!”
The event is in celebration of National Donut Day. National Donut Day was started by the Salvation Army on the first Friday of June in 1938 to honor the “Donut Ladies” who provided sweet treats to soldiers on the front lines during World War I.
