I’m Annalise. I definitely donated a ton of money to Yellow Light Donut Shop in Jefferson Chalmers.
My dog probably loves this drive-through-only spot more than I do, with its coffee, fresh donuts, and hearty breakfast sandwiches—and the staff gives her treats when she’s in the car.
Let’s Go: Yellow Light, which opened in 2020, is my go-to breakfast spot for a quick, hearty meal. If you know me, you’ve probably heard about it a lot…
It has about a dozen donut flavors daily, plus a weekly special. The best, hands down, is the brown butter plantain donut.
Yes, but I think the egg biscuit sandwich is the real star of this place. The options range from simple egg and cheddar to sausage, maple fried chicken or pickles, biscuits and gravy, to a killer soy-sauce sausage with herb aioli.
I think their biscuit sandwich is better than the one in Red Hook. The cookies are fluffier and softer, the sandwiches taste fresher, and the ingredients blend better.
What I’m watching: There are rumors that Yellow Light plans to eventually open its building for walk-in service, and I give it my blessing.
However, I can confirm that you can drive right through the drive-thru.
If you go: Hours are 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday through Sunday.
