Wings of the North Air Museum to Host Annual Pancake Breakfast

by Celia

The Wings of the North Air (WOTN) Museum is set to welcome aviation enthusiasts and families alike to its highly anticipated annual spring pancake breakfast event. Scheduled to take place at Flying Cloud Airport in Eden Prairie, the breakfast will run from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 4.

Attendees can indulge in a hearty breakfast for a nominal fee, with adult tickets priced at $10 each. Families of two adults and two children can avail themselves of a special rate of $25, with additional children aged 6 to 12 charged at $5 per head. Children under the age of 5 will be treated to their breakfast free of charge. Admission to the museum will be included with the breakfast purchase, providing guests with an opportunity to explore the captivating world of aviation history.

A highlight of the event will be a brief program commencing around 9:15 a.m., during which WOTN will ceremoniously present donation checks to students and faculty from the aviation programs recently launched at both Eden Prairie and Minnetonka high schools. The monetary contributions are earmarked to foster and inspire students to pursue careers in aviation, whether for professional endeavors or personal passion. The organization expressed its pride in nurturing the next generation of aviation enthusiasts and professionals.

Visitors will have the chance to marvel at the aircraft that will be raffled off later in the year as part of the WOTN 2024 Airplane Sweepstakes. Entry into the sweepstakes can be completed via the WOTN website, with the Grand Prize draw slated to take place at the group’s fall pancake breakfast event. In addition to the airplane, several other enticing prizes will be awarded leading up to the grand drawing. The lucky winner of the airplane will have the option to claim the aircraft or opt for an alternate cash prize of $35,000.

Weather permitting, a variety of other aircraft will also be on display during the spring pancake breakfast, adding to the excitement of the event.

The Wings of the North Air Museum invites aviation enthusiasts and curious minds to explore its exhibits every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Private tours and events can be arranged outside of regular opening hours. Conveniently located at 14857 Pioneer Trail in Eden Prairie, the museum can be accessed through Gate H at the northwest corner of Flying Cloud Airport. Visitors are advised to follow the instructions provided at the call box upon arrival, and to proceed according to the signage guiding them to the museum premises.
